Walnuts

The US market keeps on chasing records with shipment reports remaining at an all-time
high. If shipments continue at this pace the 2017 carry-out is likely to dry up completely.
Chilean shipment figures are not as detailed as Californian but it is clear that they are also
selling at a rapid pace. Some suppliers in Chile are claiming to be fully committed on the inshell
product and due to the fact that other origins basically have nothing to offer, as the US
crop seems to be well sold and no decent quality is to be expected from the 2016 EU crop,
the demand for kernel should follow steadily. This is a great opportunity for Chilean
exporters to expand their customer base.
